I said I was coming back on here regularly. Well, that was a lie, seeing as I looked here out of curiosity the other night and found stuff about Amelia still on here 0___0
TIME TO FILL IN
I've completed a second year of Year 12 at Marden, and I got into the University of Adelaide studying Bachelor of Arts/Teaching, majoring in English (currently doing Shakespeare. Gods above!)
Tis my girlfriend! we've going out for over a year now :3
Don't ask about Amelia. She left me for some douche. Karma, however, struck out, and the douche left her for a friends of hers. Bam.
Btw I've submitted some bits and pieces. YEAH
As I mentioned in my last journal over half a year ago (why did I miss the stuff about Amelia then?) All previously mentioned bands were dead and gone. Not that any of them ever really did anything...
However, the new band I created, The Prophets of Impending Doom has been quite successful. We've had three gigs and recorded three songs. Wanna record an EP soon to launch once our reputation has spread.
We've been through three guitarists already, though, two were twats, and another was really awesome but he left to focus on his other band, sadly. We had Mr Xavier from Sydney band General Pants & The Privates fill in guitar at out last gig and Mr Sanderson of the same fill in for our cowbell player who was sadly absent, but we still need a new guitarists now.
BUT WAIT, you say, why are two Sydneysiders filling in for an Adelaidean band? How did they come by each other, anyway?
Well, I discovered the band General Pants and the Privates on Newgrounds before our first gig and they turned out to be really cool people, and before we'd even played our first gig, they asked if we could travel to Sydney for their EP launch. Which was October 8th.
And so we did. We drove the 1300km to Sydney and had the most amazing week ever with General Pants and all the Privates and a handful of other pretty cool people. At the actual gig - fuuuuck. It was amazing. For the first time, people were skanking to us and the crowd received us well. Then I had a second pint of Guinness and proceeded to skank until I was utterly soaked in my own sweat (ew). The Privates then had Chris and I come back on to play additional horns in their last song. Then we set off for home incredibly happy with ourselves.
And that was our third gig! The future looks bright for PoID. Well, once we get a guitar player. Trying out someone this weekend or so. We may be doing some horns for another Adelaide band as well, which should be awesome.
I guess that's really all of it. My journals are no longer the huge, monolithic and somewhat humourous piles of text they used to be.
Do check out the small offering of new picture-things, and do look up the Prophets of Impending Doom on Facebook as well, we'd really appreciate it.
Oh yeah, totally forgot, we did a split EP with General Pants and the Privates. Somewhere on our page there's a link to it. It's free, but donations are much appreciated, yo.
